Cendol a shaved ice dessert popular in Malaysia. It's the Bing Su (Korean shaved ice) of Malaysia. It contains green jelly, kidney beans and sweet corn topped with sweet condensed milk and syrup. There's many such stall selling Cendol but there's only one good one in Bukit Beruntung. Everytime when I'm around Bukit Beruntung I will visit this Indian guy's stall.
The stall's location is just at the corner of the road in front of Restuarant Salam Sentosa Bistro at Bukit Sentosa 1. Personally, I believe why his Cendol tastes so good is because he uses an electrical ice shaving machine with the correct blade which will yield very fine ice particles. There is no big piece residues of ice in his servings, the ice are shaved very finely and evenly resulting in very smooth taste. The ingredients he uses also seems to have better quality, I notice the green jelly in the Cendol are slightly fatter than the skinny ones you get at the supermarket.
The stall serves up a big variety of Cendol to satisfy the complex food palate of the residents there. There's Cendol pulut (with glutinous rice), Cendol Cincau (with black glass jelly) etc. The basic Cendol costs RM 1.50 which is quite reasonable for today's standards. Many patrons also come to get his Rojak Mamak but I can't really praise it too much as it taste just like any Rojak Mamak you can get in the Klang Valley.
